Resisto Tenebris. I resist the darkness. We live in a world where dark forces lurk underneath the surface of the business of saving souls. Are our young women the most vulnerable and the most impacted as she becomes the property of religious zealotry? In this black and white portrait of an unidentified person partially obscured by darkness, with a raised hand and dramatic low-key lighting. The image conveys themes of isolation, vulnerability, and emotional tension through shadow, gesture, and contrast. The artistic intent is to show that she still has the power, the light, to fend of these dark forces of shadow.
