Information

A perfect example of how my artistic process unfolds and works as therapy for myself through my artistic process, is Aasha. The Spiral of Life and Death. She is an in-depth look into life as a spiral of life, death, birth and new life. She evolved into a profound symbol for our fears of death, and confidence in eternal life with a sensation that death can be beautiful too. Her truth is captured on canvas.

Bright pastels cajoled her to emerge from a monochrome abstract with an abundance of symbolic elements. My process lead to layers of resin combined with other mixed media. Using sculpture material and employing unique elements, including, copper, coral, eggshells, leather and an authentic vintage belt, Aasha emerged. She is rising above the existence here on this plane. Even in death she is alive ressurecting life.

The evolution of Aasha was an extemely intense and transformative experience for me spiritually and artistically. Aasha was an anchor during the beginning throes of grief after the death of my husband. Aasha gave me her strength and energy throughout her manifestation.

I aspire to provoke the minds of others to explore the possibilities of realities beyond this realm and for Aasha. The Spiral of Life and Death to give that same strength and hope to others as she did me.
