As an avid adventurer, I spend a considerable amount of time staring at maps and crafting travel routes in my head and on paper. After applying the initial layers of pigmented slip, I began to see what looked like landmasses backed by a vivid body of water and decided to explore this concept, further accentuating the initial brush strokes with carved lines--both dotted and solid. These lines were then inlayed with underglaze. Pattern from found objects was also explored through the use of underglaze-soaked cheese cloth.
